We generate an encryption key on this device. Everything sensitive — who called you, and which numbers you protect — is encrypted to it before it's stored. We cannot read it, and cannot recover it for you.

Step 4 — How a private call looks

Pick the format only you'll recognise. It will not appear until you save these numbers to your phone — an unsaved number always shows however your phone shows any unknown number, no matter what you pick here. Saving also stops your phone's own call-screening from intercepting these calls before your code ever gets a chance to ring through.
